My first impression of this seat when I got it out of the box was neutral, at best. It is a one piece saddle, with a single mounting screw, and relatively stiff, unforgiving material. I was surprised that the seat fit like a glove on the Boulevard C50, and the single mounting screw it actually a feature, in that it lets you get under the seat to the battery in a hurry (the stock seat had 3 screws, and two of them are a pain to remove). When you are use to riding on the stock seat, you have a nice cushy, bouncy ride with lots of room to slide around on the seat. So, when you first mount this Saddlemen seat, you may be disappointed at the firm placement of your rump. It took a few weeks, but now I see the wisdom in the form. I ride much better with this seat. My balance is greatly improved, especially with my feet up on the highway pegs. And after giving the seat a few weeks to break in, it is actually a very comfortable saddle. My son claims there is a huge improvement on the passenger part of the seat. I've never ridden bitch on my own bike--and don't plan to start--so you'll have to take his word on it. The stud pattern gives this seat the appearance of being much deeper than it it. It's kind of a cool, subtle set of lines and give the bike a much more reserved look than the stock studded seats. It's obvious from it's appearance that this is a custom seat, and other riders will take notice. I didn't order the drivers back rest with this seat, and don't think I'll miss it. I don't routinely ride more than a couple hours at one sitting. The lumbar support here is much better than the stock seat, and it will take me as far as I care to ride. Face it, the C50 is a cruiser, and is not set up for a cross-country trip. The vibration of the handlebars, and the lack of wind fairings will wear you out much faster than the lack of a drivers backrest. I considered buying the Suzuki Gel seat for this bike, but noticed that the two piece design didn't alleviate my biggest problem with the stock seat. While riding long distances, the passenger pad would vibrate against my back and make the ride completely untenable. I could squirm enough to avoid this vibration. The two-piece design of the upgraded Suzuki seat showed signs of the same problem. The single piece design of this Saddlemen seat fixed that problem. Further, the foam on the Saddlemen seat is actually split at the lumbar, adding another level of comfort. I've ridden on a Mustang seat, and this one seems to be much nicer. It's cheap
