Howdy, I was born in Wisconsin but hurried down to Dallas, Texas as soon as I was able too. At the age of 8 years old, I took a hack-saw and sawed off the front half of my bicycle right in front of the seat and petal controls. I went down to our local blacksmith shop, found some old angle iron and formed a seat and engine compartment for what turned out to be the best little mini-bike around, to me, even better than a "FOX" Mini-Bike! I road that baby all over town until the police finally caught me. They were quite lucky, as it was a very foggy night, that night! At the age of 15, I purchased a '62 BSA Motorcycle and took it to the same blacksmith where he cut the frame to form my new, unfinished chopper. I had him add reshape the frame so it was lower than before. I had an old "Panhead" Harley with a "Springer" fork which I stole and added to my chopper. I had a friend who was employed at a body shop. What GREAT Luck! He shaped the tank and fenders and helped me with the frame itself. The rest is history. My BSA Chopper carried my butt and several chicks for roughly 10 years when finally one of the chicks turned into my wife and it became necessary to "grow-up" a tad. I sold my Chopper and purchased a Honda CB350 and had change left over for all the baby needs. Can you imagine doing that today? Even though my Honda was used, it was the BEST motorcycle I had driven to that point. My BSA vibrated so much I had to have my teeth realigned! Seriously, my old Honda took all the grief I gave it and still begged for more. Why I sold it, I will never know, perhaps for the name of a "Harley" or for the extra horse power I thought I really needed. So, in 1977 I purchase my first NEW bike, a "Harley Sportster." I Loved the sound and ride my new Harley gave me! I felt for once, I was in a new class of bikers. Well, I was in fact! A class that spent time on my butt, waiting for my "Harley" to get out of the shop! Don't get me wrong, "I would rather push my "Harley" than to ride a "Rice Burner!" Lucky ME! That's primarily what I did too! I rode my "Harley" when I could, all around the Dallas area until one day when someone had more guts that I! I had a sticker on my bike's air cleaner that read, "If you value your life as I value this bike then don't FU#K with it." They didn't! My Sportster was stolen in 1984 as I remember the day well! Here a "Chop-Shop" from McKinney, TX stole my bike and before the police could find it, it was turned into thousands of parts! I was so pissed, I didn't purchase an
