Grips allow for better control of the handle bars. If wearing padded gloves, could be a bother on the palms of your hands. For padded gloves, recommend flat grips. These have ample accessories to change the look and feel. Have had this specific brand and style each bike I've owned and don't plan on changing any time soon!
