ABOUT THIS ITEM

Since its inception, the Hypercharger has continued to evolve to meet the needs of the performance minded rider.
What you see here is without a doubt the best flowing Hypercharger we have ever produced.

The interior shapes, especially the critical radius leading into the carb or throttle body, have been carefully designed.
The outer cover incorporates an additional scoop to direct air into a high-flow, washable foam filter element that seats snugly in the end of the round K&N filter element.
This filter assembly is one of the best flowing on the market and is capable of supplying enough air to even the highest output street motors.
The fontal opening is huge and as with all Hyperchargers, the vacuum operated butterflies allow almost unrestricted airflow to the filter under high-load riding situations.

Note: These kits contain an all-chrome Pro-R Hypercharger, mounting kit and carburetor jetting necessary for a complete sanitary installation.
For optimum performance and driveability on fuel injected motorcycles,.

After checking out a lot of the different intakes over the past few weeks, I settled on this one. I have to say that I'm pretty happy with it. This intake has characteristics that are different than previous generation hyper chargers. The K&N Filter is approximately 6 inches round. The outer scoop on the charger gives a bit more air, and the round honeycomb filter on the outside of the K&N adds that much more air than earlier models. Probably very similar airflow to the Baron Big Air kits as far as filter surface area. While out test-driving the bike after the install I did notice some induction noise, which actually sounds cool if you already have louder aftermarket pipes. The outside of the charger is mainly for looks, with vacuum giving the butterflies a bit of motion. Again... this is cosmetic, adds a bit of bling effect. This kit included the Thunder adapter. As far as install instructions, the Thunder adapter portion of the kit contained fairly decent instructions for the whole process. The Kuryakyn portion of the package contained nothing instruction wise. Basically on the adapter you will need to pull your original air sensor off the stock air cleaner and install it on the adapter. Also you will need to screw in the included crankcase breather fitting. Then mount the adapter to the throttle body housing. I would suggest installing the included "T" vacuum splitter prior to installing the Thunder adapter. That portion of the install, for me at least, was the hardest part. I used the thinner vacuum line on the throttle body housing instead of the larger one. The Hyper Charger portion goes together without much instruction needed, common sense stuff. Mount the inside charger portion with the included gasket to the thunder adapter, slip on the included vacuum hose. Then insert the round honeycomb foam filter into one side of the K&N filter, line it all up and screw down the outer charger housing to the inner, basically compressing the K&N in between the two. Pay attention to make sure the filter lines up with the lines on both sides of the inner housings. There are two very small washers and screws included to mount the butterfly hinges to the outer housings, install these. Grab some glass cleaner and a clean towel, clean this beauty free of fingerprints, grab a cold drink and enjoy.
