ABOUT THIS ITEM

The Sena Phantom XB (Extreme Bass) is the first purpose-built smart communications helmet featuring upgraded, acoustically engineered cheek pads to offer an unparalleled audio experience with extreme bass.

The Sena Phantom XB's acoustic chamber is built into the helmet shell and padding, and are meticulously engineered to optimize audio performance by creating an environment that minimizes disruption and dispersion. The Phantom XB also has specially designed cheek pads to channel the sound from the speakers and enhance deep bass frequencies. When the acoustically designed cheek pads are integrated into the Phantom XB's fiberglass composite shell and premium EPS padding, the result is an intermediate oval shaped, full-faced, smart helmet that exceeds DOT and ECE safety standards.

Phantom XB's integrated communication technology connects to the rider's smartphone, allowing for phone calls, GPS navigation, or music to be accessed while riding. Phantom XB can also connect to other Sena devices with Mesh Intercom technology, so riders can speak to eachother without removing their hands from motorcycle controls to use their phone. Communication is delivered cleanly with AI-enhanced Noise Control through the integrated microphone, and the transmission is heard clearly through the speakers, in an acoustic audio chamber that reduces ambient road and wind noise heard from inside the helmet.

The Phantom XB also offers additional safety enhancements not found in other motorcycle helmets, such as the integrated LED taillights and tinted, retractable, sun visor. The Sena Phantom XB is a must-have smart helmet for the audiophile motorcycle rider.

Customer's Reviews:

Where do I even start with how much I like this helmet. I’ve previously used an LS2 and a Z1R Solaris, both of which are good helmets in their own way, and I had Sena 60S units installed in both. When I ordered this one, I wasn’t sure it would really be any better — but I was completely wrong. This is by far the best helmet I’ve ever used. The ear cutouts and built-in noise reduction are fantastic. I rarely have my volume above 50%, and even that is plenty loud. It can distort around 95% volume, but honestly you’ll probably never need it that loud anyway. The mesh communication works great, my calls are crystal clear, and nobody has had any trouble hearing me while riding. I also really like the built-in headlight and taillights that you control through the app, which is a very cool safety feature. Overall this is a great helmet and I’m extremely happy with it. If you’re considering it — get this one, y’all.

From 1990 to 2005, I made my living as a motorcycle mechanic and parts distributor in the powersports industry. I’ve also spent quite a bit of my free time amateur racing, so I’ve seen and handled my share of helmets, both good and bad. I am not a fan of cheap, bad helmets, and I’m not shy about it in my reviews. In fact, most of the helmets I’ve received for review I would only rely on to keep my head dry in case of rain. This one is better than most. This seems as if it’s the one the others were trying to imitate. It has a composite fiberglass shell rather than the usual mystery plastic. The interior is fairly well-made and comfortable, but it does look familiar. I like that it has conventional double D-rings on the strap as opposed to that magnetic junk. Every moving part on it is very positive and tactile. There’s no slop in anything once it’s in place. I’m one to fog up any good helmet, including this one, but it’s better than most, and it vents pretty well. As for all of the “smart” features, that’s not really my area of expertise. I’m retired, so I’m not always up on how these things work. I had to watch a few videos to really take advantage of some of them. The sound is really good. I wish I had this back when I was racing Mini Stocks. I used to love to crank up the music in my headphones under my helmet. But now I really like it for the directions from my phone. I really like that little map lamp too. Not a big fan of apps, though. Overall, I’d still like to see a better helmet and fewer smart features for my money, though.
